Digital Transformation to Drive Innovation – To Disrupt or To be Disrupted

As a continuing effort to promote the development and experience sharing of Next Generation Internet technologies and applications in Hong Kong, HKNGIS (the Hong Kong Next Generation Internet Society) is pleased to co-organize with IT Services, The University of Hong Kong (“HKU”), a technical seminar with the theme “Digital Transformation to Drive Innovation – To Disrupt or To be Disrupted” to be held in the afternoon of May 25, 2018 (Friday) in Room CPD-3.28 of the Centennial Campus, The University of Hong Kong.

We are in a digital era characterized by the many disruptive innovations that are continuously emerging on Internet and changing people’s everyday work and life. Use of disruptive technologies and breakthrough business models to transform traditional business has become the hottest topic of most verticals in the wake of industry 4.0 / Artificial Intelligence / Robotic Process Automation. The success formula of the past is not a guarantee of future success for any company, as we have seen in many fortune 500 companies. To disrupt or to be disrupted would be the question.

To help the audience to navigate through this storm of disruption, we have invited Mr Victor Lam, Deputy Government Chief Information Officer, to give the Opening Address for the Technical Seminar while Ms Irene Chu, Head of New Economy of KPMG China, will give a Keynote Address on “Digital Transformation”. There will also be technical presentations from Fortinet and H3C, to be concluded by a panel discussion on “Key Prerequisites of Digital Transformation to Drive Innovation”.
