Singtel Tech Forum 2025: Intelligent Networks Accelerate the Development of AI and IoT
Intelligent networks shape the future! Singtel held its annual technology forum, Singtel Tech Forum 2025, on October 15 at the Cordis Hotel in Hong Kong. This year’s theme was “Connected Intelligence: Securing Growth in the Age of AI and IoT.” The forum explored how intelligent networks can accelerate the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), helping businesses lock in profits and achieve explosive business growth.
Catching Up with the New Era of AI
Tim Chan, Managing Director of Greater China, Singtel, delivered the opening remarks. He said, “This year’s forum marks its 12th anniversary, and we thank you for your continued support. With the rapid development of AI over the past two years, it has fundamentally changed the business landscape. Today, we will share new global AI application trends and insights into digital transformation. Combined with the wisdom of numerous industry experts, we are sure to unleash the potential of AI and create new opportunities.”

Generative AI Accelerates Disruptive Innovation
As we enter the new era of AI, how can businesses leverage AI technology and formulate business strategies? Kenny Yeo, ICT Practice Director at Frost & Sullivan, points out that digital operations are the best approach to business transformation today, with generative AI emerging as a disruptive force. According to a Frost & Sullivan survey, 82% of business leaders believe that generative AI will bring about disruptive innovation within the next two years.

Kenny recommends that companies consider the following four trends when considering AI adoption:
1. Increased urgency for AI, but low readiness
2. Adoption of disruptive AI technologies remains low
3. Considering the ROI of AI spending
4. The rise of AI agents
He emphasized that an enterprise’s transformation towards AI requires maturity in AI and analytical capabilities across the entire organization. This isn’t just a technical issue. Furthermore, the ability to process data and assess return on investment continues to impact an enterprise’s AI adoption, a challenge that companies must address squarely.
Singtel CUBΣ, an AI-Driven Network Solution
For enterprises to leverage AI for large-scale transformation, they must first establish a strong network infrastructure. Kwang Yong Lee, Vice President of Enterprise Products at Singtel, stated, “Over the past few years, we have diligently deployed our 5G network and built a hybrid network from edge to cloud. Now, we are entering the era of AI and automated connected intelligence, building a connected intelligent architecture across edge, device, and cloud.”

To meet the needs of enterprises undergoing AI transformation, Singtel has launched Singtel CUBΣ, a unified connectivity solution centered on connectivity, driven by data, supported by AI, and featuring built-in security. He emphasized that Singtel CUBΣcan help enterprises transition from a data-driven to an intelligence-driven approach. By combining SD-WAN, SASE security architecture, and 5G slicing technology, and leveraging AI to enhance network visibility, performance assurance, and predictive maintenance, it fosters enterprise AI development and improves operational efficiency and productivity.
Popularization of Robotics Applications
Robotics applications have grown rapidly in recent years, with China becoming a hot market. Simon Lok, Senior Director, GC Solutions & Transformation, Customer Solutions at Singtel, noted that task-centric robotic applications are increasing. These IoT applications involve different network layers and intelligent computing but are constrained by complex industrial and ICT production networks, hindering further development.

Simon believes the future of work will leverage AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) to automate IT operations and management, using agent-based AI to drive robotic work, replacing human labor and accelerating network management and response. AIOps platforms collect and analyze vast amounts of data from diverse IT sources to identify patterns, detect anomalies, diagnose root causes, and automate responses. The goal is to improve the efficiency, stability, and availability of IT systems.
As for network management, Singtel can provide a co-management model with customers, allowing them to retain strategic control. It can also develop a joint control model where customers retain decision-making power, including network security and network health.
Risks Rise Rapidly in the AI Era, Cybersecurity Takes Top Priority
AI brings convenience, but also introduces hidden vulnerabilities and the risk of attack. At the Panel session, Singtel invited leading cybersecurity experts and industry executives to discuss cybersecurity and digital risks in the AI era, sharing insights and valuable insights that benefited the audience.
In the panel, Fiona Chua of Senior Director, SD & Cyber Products, Singtel Singapore highlighted the solution: AI-based attacks are coming with high volume. We combat this by embedding AI into Singtel CUBE – using AIOps to cut false positives by 20% and reduce ticket volume by 68%, so customers can focus on what truly matters.

The conference also features numerous exhibitor demonstrations, panel discussions, industry case studies and on-site technical demonstrations, allowing attendees to interact with technical personnel on site and gain in-depth understanding.
